Julia's illustration work, conceptual and intuitive, has garnered recognition from many awards annuals and associations, most recently 3×3 Magazine, American Illustration, the Society of Illustrators (LA), ‘Lurzer’s Archive’ and featured in Taschen’s ‘Illustration Now 2!’.
Julia’s first children’s book will be in stores early spring 2009 - ‘An Eye for Color, The Story of Josef Albers’, published by Henry Holt.
An educator and advocate, Julia’s commitment combined with her organizational skills have led her to the art direction of many shows and projects, most notably, the ‘Boys’ Club’ and ‘NYC, Real + Imagined’. For the last two years she was a board member with the position of ‘Events Chair’ of ICON5, a bi-annual worldwide illustration conference held in New York, July 2008. Julia is also in her sixth year instructing illustration students at Sheridan College.
