Julia’s illustration work is informed by a diverse background of experiences and perspectives. Both conceptual and intuitive, her versatile palette and agile approach enables her to quickly grasp a client’s needs, to find the right tone, and deliver the most compelling visual expression of their message.
Julia’s illustrations have garnered recognition from many awards annuals and associations, including 3×3 Magazine, American Illustration, the Society of Illustrators (LA), ‘Lürzer’s Archive’ and Taschen’s ‘Illustration Now!’ Most recently she was awarded a GOLD medal for her work from the Society of Illustrators NY, in the Editorial category.
An educator and advocate, Julia is currently in her seventh year as an instructor at Sheridan College, where she explores Conceptual Process and Visual Language with her illustration students. Julia’s commitment to the field of illustration has also led her to organize several exhibitions and projects, most notably, the Boys’ Club and NYC, Real + Imagined, as well as serving on the board of ICON5, the fifth in a series of worldwide illustration conferences, held in New York in July 2008.
